i-SITE interference issues with parked vehicles

Kawerau i-SiteKAWERAU District Council investigations have found that interference from an electronic device in the i-SITE building was the cause of spasmodic issues with some keyless vehicles parked there recently. The interference from the electronic device meant the vehicles could not be operated by keyless entry. After investigating the issue and ruling out other potential causes, the Kawerau District Council has discovered a fault in a door counter was the cause.

The Kawerau District Council apologies for the issue to those motorists affected and for the inconvenience caused.

This system has been isolated and turned off to ensure the problem does not reoccur.

Long-term, the Council will look to replace or repair the door counter as this is an important facet of operating an i-SITE and links into the national visitor network.

Kawerau i-SITE will be sharing this issue with other visitor centres, to ensure this does not happen in any other region.
