Call for Nominations

Do you know someone who has made a significant contribution to the Kawerau Community?

If so, please let us know and nominate them for an award.

Mānawa maiea te putanga o Matariki.
Mānawa maiea te ariki o te rangi.
Mānawa maiea te mātahi o te tau.

Celebrate the rising of Matariki.
Celebrate the rising of the lord of the sky.
Celebrate the rising of the New Year.

In celebration of Matariki, Council will be holding the Kawerau Community Award during the week of Matariki. The Award acknowledges individuals or groups who have made an outstanding contribution to the Community of Kawerau for their:

  • Voluntary work

  • Community Impact

  • Group Contribution

  • Contribution by a young person

If you know of someone from Kawerau, who is deserving of this Award, please collect a Nomination form from our Council office or download it here and fill it out. Nomination forms can be returned to the office or emailed to kaweraudc@kaweraudc.govt.nz

Nominations OPEN on Monday 12 June and CLOSE on Friday 30 June 2023.

The Awards will be held on Monday 10 July 2023 at 10am.
