KAWERAU District Council is already completing upgrades to the water infrastructure and has committed major funds in the coming years.

Kawerau District Council Chief Executive Russell George said the water boiling restriction notice put into place on Saturday, 4 January 2020 had prompted questions about whether the Kawerau Council had invested enough in the infrastructure.

THE boil water restriction remains in place today on Sunday, January 5, 2020 and until further notice.

Industrial Symbiosis Kawerau’s (ISK’S) Workforce Development Chair Deanne Butler announced that Edwina O’Brien has been appointed Kawerau Pathways to Work (KPtW) Manager and will commence with the team in January next year. 

Three more Kawerau rangatahi have been offered positions with ISK’s Workforce Development KPtW (Kawerau Pathways to Work) cadetship scheme.

The Kawerau Christmas in the Park show is calling for talented performers for the Radio 1XX Community Concert (afternoon show) on Saturday, 14 December. 

The Inaugural meeting of the Kawerau District Council shows a modern approach to meeting attendances by the elected members. The council has agreed to allow the elected members to use audio-visual link to appear in the monthly meetings.

The first cadet employed under Industrial Symbiosis Kawerau or ISK’s Kawerau Pathways to Work Cadetship programme has been announced.
