An inspection of all footpaths is undertaken on an annual basis and any damages are scheduled for replacement.

If you have noticed a problem with any footpath in your area please contact Council or use our ‘Fix It’ form so that we can attend to it.

Council is currently upgrading all streetlights to the new LED format which not only provides better lighting but delivers considerable operational cost savings.

The Kawerau Urban Food Forest project launched on February 17 2017.

Opened in 2016, this modernised facility is designed for school groups, event organisers, workshops, conferences, film crews and any general interest clubs looking for an affordable, comfortable and practical lodge style accommodation; in the heart of the Bay of Plenty.

All Kawerau homes have had the chance to get involved in the Neighbourhoods of Healthy Homes (NoHH) project since it started five years ago. The energy and maintenance checks consequently ended in March 2017.
