Parks and Gardens

Kawerau is known for its gardens and reserves. They’re all close to town and offer a perfect place for a sunny weekend walk. 

Sports fields and Pavilions

The Council manages three sports pavilions: The Netball/Tennis Pavilion, Prideaux Park Pavilion and Tarawera Park Pavilion.

Public Toilets

There are two newly-renovated, centrally-located public toilets located at the Kawerau i-SITE Visitor Information Centre on Plunket Street (across the road from Prideaux Park), and next to the playground in Ranfurly Court (opposite District Council offices).
