Rates Resolution for 2025-2026

The Rates for the 2025-2026 Rating year (1 July 2025 to 30 June 2026) have been resolved and adopted by Council on 25 June 2025 with the Mahere Iwa Tau | Long Term Plan 2025 - 2031. View the resolution.

Rates Dates 

Rates are set and charged for the year starting on 1 July each year, and ending on 30 June the following year. Council invoices the rates quarterly.

Payment is required by close of business on the due date. If paying electronically by direct credit or bill payment you may wish to future date the payment to ensure payment is received on time.

Rates can be paid in a variety of ways, including cash, EFTPOS, direct debit, phone banking and internet banking.

Dates are charged in a number of different categories to enable the Council to deliver essential services to the community.

Rates are based on a valuation of the property. The Council contracts Quotable Value to perform three-yearly property revaluations to reflect changing market values. 

Council has a number of rate remission policies. These can be found on this website as Policies on Rates Remission, or from the District Office.

The Rates Rebate Scheme is a Government funded scheme designed to benefit home owners on low incomes.

The current income abatement threshold for this rating year (1 July 2024 to 30 June 2025) is $31,510.00 and the maximum rebate allowed is $790.00.
