Call for Nominations

Do you know someone who has made a significant contribution to the Kawerau Community?

If so, please let us know and nominate them for an award.

Celebrate the rising of Matariki.
Celebrate the rising of the lord of the sky.
Celebrate the rising of the New Year.

In celebration of Matariki, Council will be holding the Kawerau Community Award during the week of Matariki. The Award acknowledges individuals or groups who have made an outstanding contribution to the Community of Kawerau for their:

  • Voluntary work

  • Community Impact

  • Group Contribution

  • Contribution by a young person

If you know of someone from Kawerau, who is deserving of this Award, please collect a Nomination form from our Council office or fill it out here. Nomination forms can be returned to the office or emailed to info@kaweraudc.govt.nz

Nominations OPEN on Monday 12 May and CLOSE on Friday 6 June 2025.

The Awards will be held on Wednesday 28 June 2025 at 1pm.
