Erica's Excited

about John’s Story by Tim LaHaye and Jerry B. Jenkins. In this book it tells the story of John and what happened when he began his journey following Jesus. Both these authors have a unique way of telling the stories that keep you enjoying the story while at the same time giving you factual information. I thoroughly enjoyed the way this book kept you reading right to the very end. It captures your imagination from the start and doesn’t let go until you have finished the last page of the book. Located in Fiction (LaH).

Lawren Likes

The Lost Symbol by Dan Brown. In a time when there is nothing much more to be discovered, we begin looking to the past and in doing so, we begin to rediscover and we soon learn that there is nothing to be discovered that we don’t already know. Dan Brown is back with a more powerfully thought provoking theory than ever before. Once again science and religion are fused together and Professor Robert Langdon is summoned to Washington to help solve the cryptic clues of the Masonic brotherhood and find the one thing that has the ability to transform man into God. This time however, it is not the authorities who request his intellect, someone much more sinister wants the answers, someone who threatens to destroy the Masons and expose them to the world. Being a lover of conspiracy theories I found this one the hardest to disprove. Located in Fiction (Bro).

Christmas is coming so be prepared with The Merry Christmas Activity Book by Jane Bull. This is a great book with lots of activities for the kids in the lead-up to Christmas plus it includes ideas for gifts as well. I like the chocolate Rudolphs for my treat this year. Sharlaine Says

Sharlaine says being ditched at the alter is not Zoe’s idea of the perfect day in Jane Costello’s The Nearly-weds. A jilted Zoe sadly heads to the USA and is employed as the Nanny to a very bad tempered and moody Ryan. Ryan’s a single dad who has a hard time raising his two young children since his wife died. Zoe now has a chaotic time, raising the unruly kids as well as being the housekeeper and dealing with Ryan’s tantrums. However time is a good healer and Ryan soon appreciates all that Zoe does and sees her in a different light, but Zoe’s own past issues come back to haunt her. Zoe must soon make the biggest decision of her life, something that will alter her life forever. I absolutely enjoyed this book, I hope you do too. Located in Fiction (Cos).

Susan Selects

A Beautiful Place To Die by Malla Nunn for a great new crime read. Set in South Africa, a Afrikaner police officer is murdered in a remote town. Detective Emmanuel Cooper, a ‘British’ South African is sent to investigate and is immediately viewed with suspicion by locals. Although this is a crime story, the politics and race relations make such an impact on the investigation, and the social context is what I enjoyed. Thought provoking and a great debut by a new author! Located in Crime Fiction (Nun).
