Chainsaw racing competition is for qualified forestry professionals only who go head to head to find the best in the business.

Waiariki Polytechnic Chainsaw Skills Course

Teams of 6 loggers will compete in this specially set up chainsaw skills course which is developed to mimic the setting expected in the logging industry.

The crews will attempt to fit a bar & chain, test several cutting techniques, delimb a pole and split logs in a race setting against other teams.

In 2010 this competition was introduced on Sunday at Prideaux Park and the crews braved the torrid conditions in what is a fine attraction to watch. This year you can watch these races on Sunday 4^th September.
