Kawerau Gravity Sports Club

This club is represented by a committee of nineteen members including eight junior members.  Bruce Webber of Rotoiti is the elected Chairman, Edwina O'Brien Secretary, Liesel Van Niekerk Treasurer.  Subscription levies are set at $2 per person for junior members (those members under 19 on 1st December) and $5 per person for Seniors.  This club represents four sports that are made up of: Kayaking, BMXing, Mountain Biking and Skateboarding.

The track has now been revamped and this has proven to be extremely popular with the young riders enjoying a much more challenging track that will give the thrills and spills that they have been looking forward to. The Gravity Club is fortunate to have Jeff Carter on the Committee as he is one of NZ top track designers and will be assisting with the development of the Mountain Bike tracks upon Monika Lanham which is situated above the BMX track.  Upgrades to the skateboard park will also be a priority as Kawerau aleady has an excellent and well utilised skateboard park.  Skateboarders are looking forward to the addition of new boxes and rails which will enhance the overall design.  The skateboarders have pretty much mastered the existing park and now need something more to test themselves.
