Kawerau District Council is the driver licensing agent for AA Express and offers a range of services including vehicle registration, exemptions, road user charges, changes of ownership, driver licensing etc.

Booking of Facilities
Enquiries regarding the booking of Council-owned facilities such as the Town Hall, Concert Chambers and Recreation Centre or any of our Parks and Reserves may be made by calling (07) 306 9009.

Secretary - Eastern Bay of Plenty District Licensing Committee
We are looking for a Secretary who can ensure the smooth running of and provide the professional support required by the Committee which considers applications for licences and certificates issued under the Sale and Supply of Alcohol Act 2012.
As Secretary of the Committee you will be expected to: • Provide meetings administration • Provide advice on legislation and policy • Be the contact person for Committee members • Provide general administration support
We require someone who is able to work approximately 10 hours per week, has their own vehicle, can travel when required to Opotiki, Whakatane and Kawerau (mileage will be paid) and can work flexible hours. Where possible, applications can be dealt with electronically on papers and/or meetings held by teleconference.
While knowledge of the Sale and Supply of Alcohol Act would be an advantage, it is essential that the successful applicant will have awareness and experience in the interpretation of legislation, understanding of meeting and hearing processes and strong verbal and written communication skills. The ability to use computer-based systems is also essential.
You will need to be able to work independently but will have support from staff of each of the three Eastern Bay District Councils.
